When did you last listen to a talk that surprised you? How often do you seek inspiration from a professional world other than your own? What do you do to compensate for search engine algorithms and "filter bubbles" that customize results to you and filter out information which might introduce new perspectives and challenge your thinking

TED.com: There is a great movement around the world that seeks to continue to inspire us, generate wonder, spread ideas from a huge breadth of perspectives and spark exciting conversations that matter. This movement has a video platform sharing more than 1'000 riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world. Many talks have been viewed millions of times (one talk has 7,900,460 viewers and counting!). This movement is called TED.com.

Now TED are licensing others to organize events (called TEDx events) combining the screening of TED Talks with live speakers. The Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne has been licensed to organize such an event. It will take place on our school campus on January 16th 2012.
Inspiring ideas: For TEDxEcoleHôtelièreLausanne we have put together an exciting programme which we hope will bring you inspiration from a wide diversity of disciplines. There is no one theme; however all the content has been curated with hospitality industry and with you in mind! 21.12 - Cérémonie en hommage à Marc Hausser

Une cérémonie en hommage à Marc Hausser (EHL 1996) se tiendra à Le Vaud le 21 décembre prochain. (Salle des Combles au 2è étage du bâtiment des Curtils, centre communal et scolaire des Curtils, dans le canton de Vaud, (cf. plan), le mercredi 21 décembre 2011 de 13 à 18 heures.

Le programme de l’après midi se tiendra comme suit :

13:00 – 15:00 : Accueil et bienvenue
15:00 – 15:30 : Hommage
15:30 – 18:00 : Verrée et échanges – petite collation

L’hommage sera fait en 2 parties : une première partie durant laquelle ceux qui le souhaitent pourront s'exprimer pour évoquer Marc. Suivie d'une deuxième partie de recueillement en musique et images.
